About the author

This site was created as a consequence of several key events in the author’s life:

1. Loss of a close family member to fundamentalist Christianity. In particular, the voicing and dissemination of offensive “morals” arising from a literal interpretation of the bible.

2. Covid 19 pandemic. Covid 19 had a profound effect on Christians as a group. Data from the U.S. showed the unvaccinated  were significantly over represented in this group and they had a significantly higher rate of hospitalisation and death compared to the general population. 

3. Rise of Donald Trump – and the higher than average support he has among evangelical Christians.

4. War in Gaza – and the apparent support for  Israel by the same group. 

All four events prompted the author to critically assess the bible in terms of the evidence for it being the word of a supernatural being. In other words, its legitimacy.
